Who are we hiring? 

The Sphere Studios seeking as Production Manager for Show Management team to serve as the conduit between Sphere Studios and the Sphere Venue focusing on our 4 main business pillars: Experiences, Residencies, Marquee, and Corporate Events.  In this role the Production Manager will ensure all workflow processes are driven for each element (content, audio, technical development, quality control.) This role will reside inside the Sphere Venue and enable communication between the Sphere Venue and Sphere Studios regarding new studio content and projects. The Production Manager of Show Management must have the ability to communicate effectively across departments and external resources. They will need to have a mix of business sense and technical knowledge.

What will you do?

  • Facilitator for Sphere Studios to Sphere Operations for rehearsal planning within the Sphere.
  • Studios Point of Contact for overall logistics for rehearsal in Sphere.
  • Manage relationships with support teams, both internal and external.
  • Manage Schedule for internal/external events as needed.
  • Develop and organize workstreams from the studio to the venue for various technical elements. I.E immersive effects, show control etc.
  • Develop a completed Technical Programing Script.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures for connecting live immersive elements to Sphere studios features.
  • Create executive presentations, budget summaries, production plans, multi-project timelines, etc.
  • Ensure full asset delivery for each event or immersive element.
  • Interdepartmental liaison to Event Production, Design and Experience, Creative, Immersive, physical production and interactive to ensure all show needs are communicated.
  • Coordinate rehearsals & reviews as needed, both at Sphere studios and Sphere LV.
  • Call shows as needed.

What do you need to succeed?  

  • 8+ years working in Live production and events in the entertainment industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing a team in a complex, fast-paced, and diverse environment, preferably in a live event venue or theater management role.
  • Knowledge of production management of large-scale entertainment, technical direction, control, display technologies, lighting, rigging, automation, and sound.
  • A confident, professional, and persuasive communication style with senior leaders, team
    members and the ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and diplomacy.
  • A passion for creative problem-solving with innovative and strategic thinking
  • Ability to remain flexible and calm in high-pressure situations and adjust as multiple moving
    parts consistently change.
  • A high degree of organization, project management, and indirect personnel managing for high performance.
  • Experience with large event-based projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and communicate complex concepts clearly. 

Special Requirements

  • Willingness to participate in field tests, which may involve travel.
  • Work in a production environment with ability to work off hours and weekends as necessary.
  • Willingness to travel to Burbank multiple days per month.

Pay Range
$147,000$180,000 USD
