Sphere Studios is looking for a visionary leader and hands-on creator who combines deep technical expertise with a bold visual sensibility. The Lead Real-Time Artist drives innovation at the intersection of art, technology, and live performance. The ideal candidate is a proven expert in Notch, 3D content creation, real-time graphics pipelines, and reactive visuals. They bring a compelling portfolio of concert visuals and immersive experiences that captivate global audiences.
This leader understands the unique demands of experiential production in live entertainment and has a sharp eye for contemporary trends, emerging tools, and the cultural resonance of creative technology. They can clearly communicate ambitious ideas to stakeholders and elevate every phase of content production, from ideation to show delivery.
As part of Sphere Studios’ Motion Graphics team, the Lead Real-Time artist collaborates with Sphere Studios’ Production, Creative & Design, Visual Effects and Post Production teams as well as show directors, vendors and creative technologists to define next-generation experiences for Sphere’s spectacular canvases. They shape real-time and reactive content for the Exosphere, Atrium, and 16K Media Plane, crafting memorable moments for iconic shows, residencies, and branded partnerships.
What will you do?
- Lead a team of real-time artists to design and execute real-time motion graphics, 3D visual content, and audio reactive experiences for Sphere and its partners
- Direct teams through the creative, technical, and production process for custom concert visuals and immersive live entertainment
- Serve as a principal Notch artist, setting creative standards for real-time graphics workflows and innovation
- Translate music, audio, and live signals into dynamic motion art that drives audience engagement and emotional impact
- Develop creative best practices and pipeline efficiencies for rapid iteration, high fidelity visuals, and seamless show integration
- Partner with creative directors, producers, and technologists to craft and pitch original concepts for large-scale experiential moments
- Mentor and inspire a team of motion designers, technical artists, and creative technologists, fostering growth and excellence
- Work with Production and Event Technology teams to ensure robust, show-ready delivery under real-world conditions and deadlines
- Serve as a subject matter expert on new applications of creative technology innovations, staying current with trends in real-time, 3D, generative, and interactive content
- Champion a culture of experimentation and creative risk-taking within the studio
- Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.
What do you need to succeed?
- 7+ years of experience in motion design, real-time graphics, and creative technology for live entertainment, concerts, or immersive experiences
- Deep command of Notch, plus expertise in 3D graphics software (e.g., Cinema 4D, Houdini, Blender)
- Demonstrated success in leading the creation of concert visuals and real-time audio-reactive content at scale
- Strong understanding of live show production, stage technologies, and the demands of experiential, time-based media
- Advanced skills in technical integration, digital workflows, and cross-disciplinary collaboration
- Portfolio featuring innovative applications of motion design, real-time content, and audio-reactivity in live or installation contexts
- Clear and compelling communicator, able to present creative ideas and technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Inspirational leader with proven team management, mentorship, and organizational skills
- Passion for cultural trends, art, music, technology, and storytelling
- Self-starter with a drive to push creative boundaries and redefine what’s possible in live entertainment
Special Requirements
- Occasional travel to Las Vegas as needed for on-site shows, installations, or technical integration
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours based on show schedules and production needs
