VP Revenue Strategy & Operations

Who are we hiring?

The Vice President, Revenue Strategy and Operations will provide overall leadership and management, developing and executing strategies to drive revenue growth, direction for ticket programs and integrated sales strategy for Sphere commercial sales functions. The VP will define and execute strategic planning and oversee day-to-day campaign activity for individual and group sales campaigns, corporate events, Premium pricing, and inventory management, pricing, and merchandise sales to ensure overall revenue and sell-thru budgets.

This role will define strategy, timeline, and go-to market ticket campaigns for Experiences, group sales, event sales, in partnership with marketing teams, sales teams and across internal and external platforms. They will direct the implementation of programs with Ticketmaster, box office, legal and channel partners.  This role will support the year-round merchandise strategy.

What will you do?

  • Revenue Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive revenue strategies in collaboration with SVP and key sales leaderships roles to maximize Sphere revenue streams and P&L goals.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Develop accurate revenue forecasts based on market trends, historical data and other relevant factors. Manage and optimize budget related to revenue generation.
  • Coordinate ongoing analytical support with Data and Analytics team and deliver strategic insight to senior leadership concerning revenue growth opportunities/risks, consumer segmentation, fan base trends and opportunities to elevate business results.
  • Deploy structured planning process (business review, key issues analysis, key idea development and marketing plan integration) to drive plan quality and optimize business performance.
  • Establish departmental culture and process to drive continuous learning, innovation and optimization of emerging ticket marketing and promotional platforms.
  • Research and evaluate new sales and partnerships opportunities.
  • Develop, manage, and communicate the show schedule calendars, show times, pricing, yield strategies, inventory management, that optimizes revenue.
  • Develop and maintain over-arching sales campaign calendar for all sales efforts.
  • Oversee budget management for all ticket programs as well as trade and comp budget lines.
  • Liaison and key advisor to cross-functional internal groups including Marketing, Premium Sales, Group and Event Sales, Ticket Sales, service and retention and Finance.
  • Foster collaboration with marketing, finance, product development and other departments to ensure alignment in achieving revenue goals.

What do you need to succeed?

  • 10 years’ experience in a leadership role.
  • 5+ years’ experience leading and managing teams of people.
  • Demonstrated success working at a progressively senior level with an emphasis on strategic leadership and P&L performance including planning and overseeing projects, managing project budgets, working with outside vendors/third party consultants.
  • Extensive experience in ticket sales, marketing, campaign and project management, and negotiation, with a knowledge of and interest in live entertainment and attractions.
  • Notable leadership and strong executive presence in large, complex organizations with responsibility for significant revenue budget, diverse operating functions, and an ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Solution oriented thinking in a high-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and influence, while exercising sensitivity to the audience
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to understand and successfully take charge of difficult organizational problems and to formulate/drive appropriate solutions.
  • Strategic thinking skills coupled with strong tactical execution and exceptional problem solving and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to build and deliver clear and thoughtful presentations and compile briefing materials.
  • Exemplary work ethic, with the ability to work quickly and under pressure.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-oriented environment as new situations and initiatives arise and able to work independently when necessary and use sound business judgment.
  • Adept at maintaining a positive, open, approachable, and professional relationship with a diverse group.
  • College degree required.

Pay Range
$160,000$240,000 USD
