Program Manager – Drones

Who are we hiring?

The Sphere Show Systems Technology team is at the forefront of deploying innovative aerial solutions to enhance our audience's experience. We are seeking a Program Manager to lead our in-house drone department, managing budgets, schedules, and personnel across multiple drone technology projects. With a focus on project timelines, budget management, understanding regulations and safety practices and team coordination, the ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, a background in tech development, and outstanding leadership abilities. 

What will you do?

  • Develop and oversee comprehensive project plans, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Lead and coordinate a team of drone technology specialists to achieve project milestones and deliverables.
  • Manage the department's budget, allocate resources efficiently, and optimize costs.
  • Foster a collaborative environment, liaising between cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless integration of drone technologies into Sphere operations.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors and technology partners.
  • Monitor and report on project progress to stakeholders, adjusting strategies as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and operational standards for drone operations.
  • Contribute to the Sphere intellectual property protection program by collaborating with the Legal department on patent submissions and IP strategy.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; PMP certification is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in program management within a technology-driven environment.
  • Proven expertise in managing complex technology projects, particularly with drones or related fields.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in the tech development lifecycle from concept to deployment.

Special Requirements 

  • Willingness to travel up to 20% to various sites, including potential international destinations.
  • Availability to oversee critical project phases and be on-call for high-priority issues.

Pay Range
$118,000$165,000 USD
