Supervisor Content Operations

Who are we hiring?

The Supervisor, Content Operations is responsible for the scheduling and system maintenance for Sphere’s digital signage assets including Exosphere, IPTVs, Pylons, and other digital signage. This position will engage directly with Sphere Sales and Partnerships, Studios Brand and Creative teams, and Building Operations to secure the necessary content and execute the schedule for digital signage assets. This highly organized, detail-driven team member will own confirmation of new content delivery to venue, implement processes and mechanisms to streamline content programming, and troubleshoot technical issues.  

What will you do?

  • Inputting, scheduling and quality control of the Daktronics Venue Control Suite and VITEC Digital Signage System across all Sphere digital assets 
  • Assist in preparation of residency concerts, featured film showings and special buyouts for all live events 
  • Schedule Staff Coverage of the Digital Signage System for all events 
  • Advise, train and support team members 
  • Works collaboratively with the Senior Manger Technical Operations to develop and execute standard operating procedures for operating and maintaining Exosphere, IPTV, Sphere AV and building systems. 
  • Consult and coordinate with Sphere Sales, Partnerships, Studios Brand, and Creative teams to secure the necessary content, manage inventory, and execute the scheduling plan for digital signage assets at all Sphere digital, locations. 
  • Supervise team of Coordinators to execute preventative maintenance programs and fulfil event requirements.   
  • Provide event coverage for all scheduled events to support tech systems within the venue. 
  • Assist in the planning and tracking of budgets related to projects, operations, event, and maintenance costs. 
  • Collaborates with MSG Technical Operations team in New York and MSG/Sphere IT teams to ensure all applicable systems are cross functional enterprise-wide and that MSG/Sphere Venue Management quality standards are met. 
  • Collaborates with building electricians, production video, lighting and audio departments to ensure all applicable systems are functioning within operating standards. 
  • Indirect supervision of Content Operations Coordinator

What do you need to succeed?

  • 2-4 years experience in out-of-home, digital signage, or event presentation + production
  • Familiarity with Daktronics Venus Control Suite and IPTV systems including experience with video distribution, scheduling, content management systems, and related equipment preferred
  • Experience in scheduling large-format digital out-of-home advertising a plus
  • Desire to learn new software technologies and advance digital signage business
  • Proven track record of successfully managing a team in a complex, fast-paced, and diverse environment, preferably in a live event venue or facilities management role. 
  • Candidates who have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.  
  • Experience with LED video systems including service and maintenance of screen components, operation of media servers, and use of control systems preferred  
  • Windows/PC proficient and experience using Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Professional and Bluebeam
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Well organized and detail oriented with an ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and diplomacy.
  • Commitment to providing a high-quality service experience for both internal and external clients. 

Special Requirements

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required. May have split days off.
  • Ability to work at height (upwards of 200’-300’+) on interior and exterior catwalks and on building maintenance unit. 
  • Extensive standing, walking, keyboard usage and general administrative duties 
  • Occasional travel to NY or Burbank, CA (<10%)

Pay Range
$75,000$90,000 USD
