Who are we hiring?

The Controls Technician is responsible for installing maintaining, repairing and calibrating the automation control system that controls the HVAC equipment. The Controls Technician manages the HVAC control system and performs system troubleshooting, programming logic and adjust system parameters to achieve optimal system performance.

The Controls Technician will be qualified to assist in service and repair of HVAC equipment, motors, pumps, air compressors, ice and refrigerating machines, boilers, exhaust fans, cooling towers and plumbing systems. Additionally, the Controls Technician will also assist in operating/programming the power monitoring, and lighting control systems and provide continuous documentation of alterations, maintenance, and repair.  

What will you do? 

  • Service, maintain HVAC control systems including wiring, calibrate sensors and actuators and program variable frequency drives.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive and corrective maintenance to identify issues and verify proper control system functionality.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve issues within the HVAC control system including identifying programming issues within the building management system.
  • Operate the BMS system and program the control logic to optimize system performance base of seasonal load conditions.
  • Perform all applicable system upgrades including programming of any added control devices and provide thorough documentation. 
  • Assist in machinery maintenance including but not limited to service and repair of pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coil units, cooling towers, exhaust fans, chillers, boilers and all associated valves and devices.
  • Assist in complex projects involving the mechanical and electrical infrastructure.
  • Manage all subcontracted work and ensure it is completed in accordance with local codes and compliances.
  • Operate and monitor fire life and safety systems such as sprinklers systems, fire pump, smoke control system, standby generator and all related appurtenances.
  • Develops and ensures high level of service standards for the facility equipment as well as exceptional inter-departmental collaboration, communication and support.

What do you need to succeed?

  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a journey level controls technician preferably in commercial or industrial environment.
  • Certified in HVAC controls from recognized manufacturer (e.g., Schneider, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Climatec)
  • Able to operate a variety of aerial platforms, boom lifts and scissor lifts.
  • Knowledge of HVAC/R troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Must be proficient in the safe use of trade related tools and equipment.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:

  • Must possess valid driver’s license.
  • Must be willing to work nights weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to list 50 lbs.
  • Required to have completed the OSHA 10-Hour training course

$52$52 USD
