Who are we hiring?

The Senior Analyst is responsible for the financial management of Sphere Live and Marquee Event businesses, which includes residencies, our EDM concerts & other Sporting related events. The Sr. Analyst’s responsibilities will be categorized into the following areas:

  • Event financial support including event offers, settlements, and financial outlook
  • Assist with the development of detailed event and financial assumptions for Live and Marquee Events working in tandem with the Live business and Marquee Events business teams and other departments to refine key operating assumptions (e.g., event counts, paid attendance, scan count, ticketing fees, event profit, food, beverage, merchandise and premium products)
  • FP&A/Financial Reporting including but not limited to annual budgets, monthly forecasts, month-end close, rate card analysis, venue standards, and competitive analysis

What will you do? 

Event Financial Support (75%)

  • The Sr. Analyst prepares detailed labor & cost estimates for MSG Sphere Las Vegas concert residencies and Marquee Events. This includes being proficient and well versed in union rules and rate card rent for use by MSGE/Sphere Live Booking team and MSGE Marquee Events team to negotiate deals with clients.
  • The Sr. Analyst is responsible for tracking event costs, reviewing contracts, conducting event settlements with promoters and/or artist representatives, preparing P&L statements, and reviewing the monthly reconciliation to general ledger as needed. The Sr. Analyst will conduct weekly reconciliations to ensure that building labor is coded to the proper event.
  • The Sr. Analyst will develop financial and operational expertise related to labor and non-labor expenses. This will include understanding and summarizing union agreements, work rules, and applicable rate cards. The Sr. Analyst will be used as a resource by the Booking team and other Finance Staff.

FP&A/Financial Reporting (25%)

  • The Sr. Analyst shall provide primary analytical support to critical FP&A work as assigned (e.g. annual budgets, forecasts, month-end close, rate card analysis, venue standards, and competitive analysis, etc.). This will include projects and reporting that cross divisions, requiring the Sr. Analyst to maintain positive working relationships across the company.
  • The Sr. Analyst will review and approve coding for all Live event-based purchases through the company’s purchasing system.
  • The Sr. Analyst will be responsible for the accurate distribution of company-wide event financial information and the creation of unique tracking codes.
  • Preparation and signing event settlements in conjunction with Event Bookers. Settlements with outside promoters, artists, or producers regularly represent transactions that exceed millions of dollars.

What do you need to succeed? 

  • BS, BA or related degree in accounting or finance or equivalent work experience
  • Strong financial modeling skills in Excel and in depth understanding of financial systems desired but not required
  • Experience in Oracle, Hyperion, Tableau, and other ERP systems desired but not required
  • 3-5 years of work experience ideally within the live entertainment and/or theatrical industry preferred
  • Experience in a union environment and dealing with multiple collective bargaining agreements preferred

Pay Range
$75,000$100,000 USD
