Who are we hiring?
The Supervisor Broadcast Systems will be responsible for the operations and maintenance of broadcast equipment within the Sphere and adjacent spaces and would oversee all in-house broadcast operations. The Supervisor Broadcast Systems will work closely with IT, Playback Systems, and Display Systems to manage and troubleshoot one of the largest ST2110 networks in the world. This position will oversee internal and external production teams to support their needs from pre-production meetings through to event operations.
What will you do?
- Supervise in-house team of union and non-union broadcast systems engineers responsible for the strength, clarity, and overall broadcast transmission on to Spheres immersive surfaces, adjacent spaces, and outside transmissions. Supervising the team includes hiring, training, scheduling, mentoring, and filling in as needed.
- Participate in the planning, documenting, training, and commissioning of systems as they are carried through from their design phases to opening night. Systems include, but are not limited to: video switching systems, camera systems, large scale storage NAS, media playback systems.
- Assist with the technical advance for events. Interact with visiting production crews to ensure a successful show.
- Oversee the operation of internal broadcast systems throughout the entire event production.
- Responsible for overseeing the installation and maintenance of permanent and temporary event broadcast equipment.
- Assist video playback team with event operations and troubleshooting event issues as required.
- Oversee troubleshooting event day issues and be highly responsive to emergencies in a fast paced, time sensitive environment.
What do you need to succeed?
- Candidates who have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred. Educational requirements may differ from job to job based on the role.
- 5+ years working experience in live-event broadcast environments.
- Deep working knowledge of SMPTE specifications (ST2110/ST2059/ST2022), NMOS, layer 3 routing, firewalls, spine & leaf topology, Cisco IPFM, IEEE-1588 PTP v2, generic video/audio over IP solutions (NDI, RTP etc).
- Experience with media playback systems such as Disguise, Pandora’s Box, Hippotizer, or 7thSense, is a significant plus.
- Experience with LAWO IP systems and Sony XVS switchers is a significant plus.
- Experience with IPTV systems is a significant plus.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks with both financial and operational implications across departments and venues in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Experience supervising and working with Union & Non-Union Crews

- This is a 100% onsite role.
- Required to have completed the OSHA 30-Hour training course
