Sphere is a next generation entertainment venue, rooted in art and science with the mission to bring wonder to the world. The immersive venue in Las Vegas showcases events, brand activations, artist residencies and other forms of entertainment featuring A-list talent. We are looking for a multi-disciplinary Senior Designer versed in graphic, motion and experiential design to create breathtaking content and brand experiences within Sphere’s in-house Agency and Design Studio.
The Senior Designer plays a key role within the Design and Creative Services team, crafting compelling experiences for the world’s most dynamic entertainment venue. Your work encompasses the full scope of Sphere, from the 360º digital canvas of the Exosphere, to spatial design inside the Atrium, to immersive visual experiences on the Media Plane for marquee events and artist residencies.
As a hands-on creative, the Sr. Designer works with cross-functional teams – including Creative Directors, Art Directors, Writers, Designers, Editors and Technologists – to conceptualize and execute visual concepts and campaigns across brand, art, marketing, and experiences. Projects range from branding to identity systems, style frames to storyboards, marketing materials to merchandise, print collateral to websites, pitch decks to vision presentations, digital and social activations to ground-breaking innovations.
We’re seeking a curious, forward-thinking team player with a solid foundation in 2D and 3D design, motion, concept visualization, and innovative storytelling. The ideal candidate combines a keen eye for modern design with a deep sense of beauty and aesthetics. What will you do?
- Use a multi-discipline approach to solving motion design challenges across Sphere’s brand content, original IP, promotional art, brand marketing, and partnership initiatives.
- Develop dynamic previsualization assets including cinematic storyboards, style frames, animatics, and motion tests to prototype visual ideas and inform production strategy.
- Translate creative concepts into compelling motion design across screens, installations, virtual environments, and immersive platforms.
- Design and model concepts and ideas with a high level of visual storytelling, developing storyboards, animatics and production-ready motion designs
- Collaborate with Creative Directors, Art Directors, Technologists, and Production teams to craft scalable, immersive motion content tailored to Sphere’s unique canvas.

- Identify emerging trends in culture from the worlds of design, art, film and music
- Build pitch decks and visual treatments for concept presentations and cross-functional alignment.
- Help design templates and workflows that improve upon our Pre-Viz pipeline
- Ensure that all work meets a high level of creativity, innovation and brand building
- Receive and discuss Design feedback with an open mind and an ability to rapidly pivot
What do you need to succeed?
- 7–8+ years of experience in motion design, animation, or cinematic previsualization in a creative studio, agency, or production environment.
- Exceptional skills in motion graphics, 3D animation, visual storytelling, and previsualization tools (After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
- Exceptional skills in previs and 3D layout tools (Blender, C4D, Unreal, Houdini, etc.); familiarity with working in real-time engines is a strong plus.
- Proficient in a variety of mediums and methods to convey ideas and concepts (e.g., storytelling, storyboards, mood boards, concept treatments, mock-ups, etc.)
- Strong design sensibility and experience with narrative rhythm, camera motion, timing, and dramatic visual pacing.
- Adept at developing animatics, motion tests, and key visuals that sell big ideas and set visual direction.
- Experience in storytelling and concept development with a strong design background; understanding of typography, graphics, layout, form, color and spatial design; well versed in the design process and production methods
- Able to communicate the thinking behind your design process, suggest creative solutions for production methods to remain agile and efficient
- Strong collaboration and relationship building skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of emerging creative technologies, best practices and experimental approaches in design, marketing and brand communications
- Is a self-starter, detail-oriented with highly developed organizational skills for proper workflow and process management, and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively to meet deadlines
- Ability to perform well under pressure and under short deadlines, able to work in varying degrees of fidelity, from sketching through production (speed vs quality)
