Sphere Celebrates Spooky Season With Sphere Of Fear
Custom Halloween Content – Created By Sphere Studios – To Be Featured On The Exosphere Through November 2
LAS VEGAS (October 30, 2024) — Sphere Entertainment Co. announced today a custom Halloween Exosphere content show bringing spooky season to the world’s largest LED screen. Fans both on the ground in Las Vegas and watching online via XO Stream can catch the spook-tacular visuals nightly at the top of each hour from 6:00pm to midnight PT through November 2.
“The Exosphere is a platform for storytelling year-round and the Halloween creative adds a new must-see offering to spooky season in Las Vegas and around the world,” said Ned McNeilage, Chief Creative Officer, Sphere. “Created exclusively by the Sphere Studios team, the Halloween content is the perfect example of how we’re able to celebrate cultural moments and engage audiences in a uniquely Sphere way.”
Every night at the top of each hour from 6:00pm to midnight, the full Halloween show featuring creepy eyeballs, slithering snakes, flying bats, and more will run on the Exosphere. In addition to the captivating visuals, the Halloween content incorporates XO Audio – custom audio created by Sphere Studios that is synced to the Exosphere and is audible both onsite and online via XO Stream at thesphere.com. The spooky audio will give everyone tuning in a tingle up their spine.
To kick off the fright-filled festival, a larger-than-life drone show took the Exosphere to new heights. Bridging artistry and design with immersive technology, the drone show added a multi-sensory dimension to the Exosphere – elevating it above the Las Vegas skyline. The show began when a ghost made entirely of drones emerged from the Exosphere into the night sky before transforming into a skull. The words “Sphere of Fear” appeared over the venue before melting into a spooky, slimy display.
Since the Exosphere was first illuminated on July 4, 2023, it has captured worldwide attention for its impactful visuals. The largest LED screen on Earth at 580,000 square feet, the Exosphere consists of approximately 1.2 million LED pucks, spaced eight inches apart. Each puck contains 48 individual LED diodes, with each diode capable of displaying more than 1 billion different colors – creating a vivid landmark on the Las Vegas skyline.
