FOR 300 NYC-AREA SCHOOL CHILDREN
NEW YORK (July 31, 2025) — In preparation for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year, Madison Square Garden Sports (MSG Sports), Madison Square Garden Entertainment (MSG Entertainment), and Sphere Entertainment Co. (collectively, “The MSG Family of Companies”) and the Garden of Dreams Foundation will provide thousands of local students with backpacks and school supplies. The annual donation program – now in its tenth year – kicks off with the first-ever Garden of Dreams Back-To-School Dream Day at The Garden for tri-state area young people. As the program continues throughout August, a total of more than 12,000 Knicks, Rangers, MSG Entertainment, Sphere and Garden of Dreams themed supplies will be donated to young people in New York, Chicago, Burbank, and Las Vegas – all areas where the Companies have venues and offices – to help ensure that students are properly equipped for their first days of school.
“The MSG Family of Companies and the Garden of Dreams Foundation are proud to mark a decade of helping low-income youth and their families prepare for the upcoming school year by providing them with much needed school supplies,” said Rich Constable, EVP and Global Head of Government Affairs and Social Impact, MSG Entertainment. “Since the inception of this program in 2015, we have delivered tens of thousands of backpacks and school supplies to deserving students throughout New York who need them most. This important initiative is about more than just preparing students for the classroom – it’s a commitment to supporting our communities and helping young people thrive.”
On August 5, the Garden of Dreams “Back-To-School Dream Day” will host more than 300 young people in grades 3-6 from Garden of Dreams partner organizations in the tri-state area at Madison Square Garden. Attendees will receive brand-new school supplies and gear, participate in engaging activities and meet Knicks and Rangers alumni, the Radio City Rockettes, and additional celebrities.
Throughout the month of August, The MSG Family of Companies and the Garden of Dreams Foundation will partner with nearly 100 elected officials and community leaders throughout Brooklyn, The Bronx, Manhattan, Staten Island, Queens, Long Island, Westchester, and the Hudson Valley, as well as in Chicago; Burbank, CA; and Las Vegas to distribute supplies to students in need across their areas.
Rounding out the program, The MSG Family of Companies and the Garden of Dreams Foundation will also support community events hosted by Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards and Staten Island Council Member Kamillah Hanks. At each event, hundreds of additional young people will receive backpacks, have the opportunity to meet a Knicks alumnus and participate in a Jr. Knicks youth basketball clinic.
