As Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer of Sphere Entertainment Co., Gautam Ranji works closely with Sphere Entertainment’s executive management team to support the long-term direction of the Company. In this role, he oversees all financial aspects of the Sphere Entertainment business, including the financial planning and analysis, controllership, treasury, and investor relations functions. In addition, he plays an instrumental role in the growth strategy and operational execution for Sphere, a next-generation entertainment medium that is redefining the future of live entertainment.
Prior to joining Sphere Entertainment, Mr. Ranji was Chief Operating Officer at Blavity, Inc., a venture capital-backed media and business solutions company focused on Black and multicultural audiences, where he was responsible for all commercial and corporate functions. Before joining Blavity, Mr. Ranji worked for ViacomCBS and CBS as Executive Vice President, Strategic Planning and Business Development, where he led strategic planning and business development for CBS, and played a key role in the 2019 merger and subsequent integration of the companies. Prior to ViacomCBS, he worked for the Hearst Corporation managing a global portfolio of businesses for Hearst’s family of brands. Mr. Ranji began his career in investment banking.
Mr. Ranji currently serves on the Board of Directors of Blavity, and is Vice Chair of the Board of Breakthrough New York, a non-profit organization that empowers motivated students from low-income backgrounds to graduate from college and access a fulfilling career.
Mr. Ranji graduated from Dartmouth College with a BA in Economics, and he received an MBA in Finance and Accounting from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
